As Basketball Wives, Beyonce’s breast feeding, the Rihanna and Chris Brown’s remix, keep you distracted here is what is going on in the real world.  When you read this story you should think this could’ve been your brother, cousin or friend.  This is what is going on now and this is what you are ignoring while your filling your brain up with idle non sense. This happened almost 3 weeks ago no arrest have been made, and it looks like no one will be punished for this. 

17-year-old Trayvon “Trey” Martin was visiting his father at his home in The Retreat at Twin Lakes, a gated community in Sanford, 20 miles north of Orlando, Florida. During a break from watching the NBA All-Star game, he walked to a nearby convenience store for snacks, which included Skittles for his 13-year-old brother Chad. While on his way back to his father’s home, he encounteredGeorge Zimmerman, a 26-year-old college student and self-appointed captain of The Retreat at Twin Lakes neighborhood watch.

According to reports, Zimmerman followed Martin in his car and called 911 reporting “a suspicious person in the area”. Shortly after, an altercation between the two occurred, and by the time police officers had arrived Trayvon Martin was dead.

There are 911 tapes that aren’t being released to the public where the 911 operator told George Zimmerman to stay in his car and not to approach the kid.  Zimmerman didn’t listen to the directions approached the boy on his own and ended up in an altercation and now young Trayvon Martin is dead.  The part that is really sad is NO ONE is saying anything.  This isn’t a trending topic on twitter the news is barely covering it, it’s like no one cares.  I googled the story and ONE hip hop blog covered it.  There is a plot to keep the mainstream Hip Hop community oblivious from matters that really matter.

What people need to realize there is underlying racism in this country when it comes to being a black male.  There are people that are scared of black men just for the simple sake of being black.  This story is sad and every NBA Player, Rapper, Businessman, Father or any person who has a brother, father should speak out about this.  Where is Lil Wayne, Kanye West ,Diddy, Birdman, Jay-Z, Kobe Bryant or any other prominent black figure? 

ZImmerman is claiming that this shooting was self defense and was let free to go home by the police.   There is no way in the world if these roles were reversed would a black person who just shot a white male in the streets be let to go home after doing so.  People need to pay attention to what is going on when it comes to inequality in this country.  While your learning the latest steps to the “Beef It Up” or some other stupidity, this should be on your mind.  How many Trayvon Martin’s will there be before anyone does anything.  The next person to be killed innocently could be you or some one you love.
